Who can apply : This program is intended for: Professionals currently working with children with autism, including therapists, educators, psychologists, special educators, and early interventionists
The Autism Intervention Training Program (AITP) is a six-month, part-time certificate course designed for professionals working in clinics, rehabilitation centers, schools, community-based programs, and other organizations that support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Offered in a hybrid format, AITP combines live demonstrations, interactive learning, and supervised practice, making it accessible to professionals both within and outside Mumbai.
Key Highlights
· Trains professionals to work on communication, social interaction, play, and behavioral challenges in children with ASD (ages 1–12 years)
· Uses a blend of evidence-based strategies including ABA, PRT, NDBI approaches, and TEACCH
· Provides ongoing supervision and support post-training to enhance real-world application of strategies
Program Objectives
By the end of the six-month program, participants will be able to:
· Understand how ASD affects typical development from birth to age 12
· Assess child development in attention, communication, social skills, play, and behavior
· Formulate individualized intervention plans
· Apply principles of evidence-based interventions
· Collaborate effectively with families and professionals involved in the child’s care
Program Structure
The AITP is organized into:
· Three core teaching modules focused on supporting children with ASD across different age groups
· Five online supervision sessions to guide the implementation of concepts into practice
Learning methods include:
· Self-study, interactive lectures, and video demonstrations
· Hybrid mock sessions for hands-on learning
· Self-paced assignments after each module
Participants are expected to:
· Apply learned strategies with at least three children with ASD in their current practice
· Actively participate in supervision sessions to discuss real-world experiences
· Present a case discussion at the end of the course, demonstrating applied understanding through 1–2 selected cases
